NEXT MEETING
Wednesday, April 17, 2024
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Presenters – Marsha Goldford, Eileen Malischewski & John Holbrook
Since 1997, John has been immersed in the world of IT, initially cutting his teeth at a local Credit Union. Over the years, he’s navigated through various roles, transitioning from support and operations to network architecture. However, for the past decade and a half, his focus has been squarely on cybersecurity, earning him the moniker of the “Security Guy.”
In the last couple of years, John has ventured into the realm of cybersecurity consulting, collaborating with a diverse clientele comprising small to medium-sized enterprises and municipal bodies. His engagements have been multifaceted, encompassing critical tasks such as conducting cybersecurity maturity assessments, crafting comprehensive security strategies for both short and long-term horizons, orchestrating incident response frameworks, facilitating tabletop exercises, drafting meticulous policies, and providing sustained mentorship and advisory services.
Marsha Goldford, Eileen Malischewski, and cybersecurity expert John Holbrook will guide a discussion on safeguarding oneself online. John, with extensive experience in cybersecurity, will join virtually to shed light on real threats encountered in daily transactions. The discussion will focus on ‘Defending Against Digital Dangers’, including various scams, detection methods, and protective measures for personal information. This opportunity offers participants insight into evolving scam tactics, empowering them to take prompt and effective action when necessary.
